Josh LA | I will be vacationing in The Crescent City later next summer and I was looking for suggestions for good magic/astrology/voodoo/fortune teller/palm reader/ tarot reader shops and establishments? Any and all good suggestions are welcome as well as anything else related to New Orleans, thanks! |

StarlightSmileSupreme | When I was in the French Quarter I saw a lot of them. Just walk around and you will bump into one. |
PixieJane | If I were interested in finding "something real or native" then I think I'd start my search by respectfully asking at a Unitarian Universalist church (such as here) where one should be more likely to get genuine word of mouth recommendations (since they tend to invite all sorts of guests and have members from various religious and metaphysical backgrounds) rather than paid advertisements aimed at the tourists. I'd think getting someone less potentially dangerous would be better that way, too. I might also try to contact anyone who said they welcome questions from witchvox for that state. OTOH, if I were just after campy (think of it as Voodoo Disney) then they will make themselves known to you. I wouldn't trust it to be more than showmanship, however. On the off chance you get something real, be very careful with it. A guy I know had a really creepy experience when a "hoodoo friend" of his gave him some magic chalk of some kind (that his friend had stolen from his grandfather and didn't really believe it, it was just a joke to him). Though he drew more out of boredom (but "kept it safe just in case") he drew 3 images of what he wanted to happen and within a few months all 3 did...in the LITERAL sense. So when he did drawings of being reunited with a lost loved one it happened but he'd also written the name to the figures, IIRC (but it turned out to be traumatic rather than joyous). He also did one pic of him with a suitcase with plenty of money (shown by bills sticking out) and it literally happened in a sense...he was forced to move and when he got to where he was going he saw a couple of bills or so sticking out as happened in his pic which seemingly meant he brought tragedy on himself that forced the move (the picture he drew literally happened though not the intent he imagined into it)...but in retrospect he guesses he was lucky, after all it could've been filled with money like he meant it to be when he drew it but that wouldn't mean he wouldn't be shot for it shortly after. |
Josh LA | Thank you and yes if anyone on here lives in or near New Orleans and knows of a establishment or person that is reputable in Tarot/Astrology/Fortune Telling/Voodoo. I would greatly appreciate it! |
